I asked Amanda Weitzel to marry me and she said YES! We’re not sure of the date (probably mid-August) or location yet, but stay tuned.
It is a little hard to explain exactly what happened in the same way that a video can, so I had Lindsey video everything (she wasn’t supposed to get the last part, but we’re glad she did!)

February 21, 2008Wow! How often does a mother get to see her son propose? I could watch this over and over. Sniff, Sniff. Mark, I always knew you had good taste and Amanda proves it. We love you Amanda. God has finally answered allllllllll my prayers, since Mark was small, for my son to find a godly woman who loves him so much. However, Mark should know better than to give anyone in our family a camera, right Lindsey? What a great sister to know when to quit and when not to quit, eh? Mark and Amanda you can’t know how wonderful you two look together through a mother’s eyes until it happens to you someday. I think I’ll play it again.

The video was soooo amazing! Amanda, all those years we spent wondering IF God would ever bless us with a husband, and here you are…when I found out you were dating Mark, and saw you two together (via the thousands of pictures you two take), I knew that it was only a matter of time…I wish you both the best…always remember to keep God first in your lives and marriage and the rest will take of itself.

It had it all - mystery, suspense, car chase (ok, so you were chasing a clue, but still . . . ), humor, and touching moments that generated some sniffing and eye welling. It was great seeing you both last weekend in Houston! I just wanted to again extend my congratulations again to you both for getting engaged.
